Shanklin Pool

Shanklin Pool opens May 27 for the 2017 season!

All patrons visiting Shanklin Pool are required to purchase a pool photo ID for $2/resident or $3/non-resident. This ID is valid for three years. With the photo ID, patrons will pay daily or twilight admission fees. Season pass purchase includes photo ID.

Open Public Swim Hours:

Monday - Friday: (Daily Hours) 12 noon – 4 pm; (Twilight Hours)  6 - 8 pm
Saturday & Sundays: 12 noon - 7 pm


Resident and Non-Resident Fees:
Goshen City residents, through city property taxes, contribute substantially to support facilities and programs offered by the Goshen Parks and Recreation Department.  Non-residents are commonly asked to pay an additional amount so they contribute equally with those City residents.  We appreciate non-resident’s understanding in this situation regarding our fee structure.  A City resident is anyone who lives within the City limits of Goshen.

Group Rates:
Half-price daily admission is offered to non-profit organizations that have 10 or more guests visiting the pool. Organizations must schedule group visits with the pool manager in advance; call 533-7616. A non-profit certificate must be presented prior to the visit in order to receive the group rate. Otherwise, the full admission price will be charged- no exceptions. One adult per 10 youths is required.

Pool Rentals:
Available pool hours for rentals are as follows:
Saturdays & Sundays, 9:00 am - Noon or 7:00 - 9:00 pm
$225.00 + tax per two-hour time slot, for up to 30 guests


Shanklin Pool Special Events

College Student Thrifty Thursdays: You won’t need a loan for this! Enjoy some fun in the sun. Each Thursday, college students with a college photo ID will be admitted all day at the twilight rate of $2.

Grandparents’ Summer Sittin’ Tuesdays: Baby-sitting? Spend a day at the pool. Each Tuesday, grandparents receive free admission when accompanied by children 3 years and older. Regular fees apply for grandchildren.

Teen Scene Mondays: Mondays aren’t dreary when it’s summer! Each Monday, teens are admitted all day at the evening rate of $2. Bring your school ID and your friends—and celebrate summer Mondays.

Daddy’s Day Dip: Kids, bring your dad to Shanklin for his Father’s Day gift on Sunday, June 18. Picnic in the park or “dine” at Shanklin’s concession stand. Fathers accompanied by children 3 years and older will be admitted free. Regular rates apply for children.

Family Fun Days! Each Wednesday, 6–8 pm. Pool games and fun activities. Families are admitted for $6. (A family consists of parent(s)/guardian(s) and their legal dependents)

Fair Week: During Fair Week (July 21 to July 29), when you visit Shanklin Pool, you receive 1/2 off your pool admission. Season pass holders receive a free slushie!


Shanklin Pool Rules

  1. NO RUNNING, PUSHING OR ROUGH PLAY IS PERMITTED IN POOL, ON THE RUNWAYS, ON DIVING BOARDS, ON FLOATS, ON PLATFORMS, ON WATER SLIDES, IN DRESSING ROOMS OR IN SHOWERS.
  2. NO FOUL LANGUAGE.
  3. ALL PERSONS SHALL TAKE A CLEANSING SHOWER BEFORE USING THE POOL. A BATHER LEAVING THE POOL TO USE THE TOILET SHALL TAKE ANOTHER CLEANSING SHOWER BEFORE RETURNING TO POOL ENCLOSURE.
  4. SWIMSUITS ARE REQUIRED. NO CUTOFFS. ONLY WHITE T-SHIRTS ALLOWED IN POOL. STREET CLOTHES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN POOL OR ON POOL DECK.
  5. ANYONE WHO HAS OR HAS HAD DIARRHEA IN THE PAST (2) WEEKS SHALL NOT USE THE POOL.
  6. OBEY THE LIFEGUARD AND DO NOT DISTRACT THEM.
  7. THE SPLASH POOL IS NOT GUARDED; CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY ADULT.
  8. CHILDREN UNDER 14 YEARS OF AGE OR NON-SWIMMERS SHALL NOT USE THE POOL UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY RESPONSIBLE ADULT.
  9. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED. CONCESSION STAND AVAILABLE.
  10. NO DIVING OR OTHER DANGEROUS ENTRANCE IS PERMITTED FROM THE EDGE OF THE POOL.
  11. NO SMOKING IN THE POOL, CONCESSION AREA OR WITHIN TWENTY FEET OF THE FENCE & ENTRANCE AREAS.
  12. TOYS, WATER RINGS, FLOATS, ETC. ARE NOT PERMITTED. THE ONLY PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICE ALLOWED IS A REGULATION, COAST GUARD APPROVED LIFEJACKET.
  13. THE POOL WILL CLOSE FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES AFTER THUNDER IS HEARD OR LIGHTING IS SIGHTED. NO RAINCHECKS OR REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER.
  14. SPITTING, SPOUTING OF WATER, BLOWING THE NOSE AND SIMILAR BEHAVIOR IN THE POOL IS PROHIBITED.
  15. ANYONE WHO HAS AN AREA OF EXPOSED SUBEPIDERMAL TISSUE, OPEN BLISTERS, CUTS, ETC., IS ADVISED NOT TO USE THE POOL.
  16. NO BACK DIVES OFF THE DIVING BOARD. ONLY ONE PERSON ALLOWED ON THE DIVING BOARD AT A TIME.
  17. SWIM TEST IS REQUIRED FOR THOSE UNDER 18 TO USE DIVING BOARDS & DEEP END.
  18. DO NOT PLAY ON THE LADDERS, LANE LINES, LIFEGUARD STANDS, AND DIVING ROPES.
  19. POOL OPEN FOR ADULT LAP SWIM DURING 10 MINUTE BREAKS; FIVE MINUTES BEFORE EACH HOUR.
  20. ALL DIAPER-AGED CHILDREN SHALL USE PLASTIC PANTS WITH TIGHT FITTING ELASTIC AT THE LEGS AND WAIST, OR SWIM DIAPERS. DO NOT CHANGE DIAPERS AT POOLSIDE.  
  21. NO RAINCHECKS OR REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR ANY REASON.
  22. THE ONLY CLOTHING PERMITTED ON POOL DECK IS SWIM SUITS, WHITE T-SHIRTS, MESH SHORTS, SUIT COVER-UPS AND SANDALS/FLIP FLOPS. PEOPLE WEARING ANY OTHER TYPE OF CLOTHING OR SHOES MUST STAY IN THE CONCESSION AREA OR DESIGNATED SEATING AREA AWAY FROM THE POOL DECK. ONLY SEE THROUGH OR MESH BAGS ARE ALLOWED ON THE POOL DECK, ALL OTHER ITEMS WILL BE CHECKED IN AT THE BASKET WINDOW.
