ROAD CLOSURE: DIERDORFF ROAD

Today Tuesday, August 14, NIPSCO will close Dierdorff Road directly south of the round-about at Keystone Drive to work on a minor gas leak. They anticipate the road to be closed for one day, but may require closure on Wednesday if something larger than they anticipated is found. more

Summer brush pickup

During scheduled brush collections, the Street Department will make only one pass through the city to pick up brush. Please have your brush by the front curb, but not in the street, by that Monday morning at 7:00 am. Brush will not be picked up in alleys and the piles should be trash free. Crews cannot access the piles if blocked by vehicles.

Judge Bodie J. Stegelmann was appointed to the bench by Governor Pence in September 2014.

Goshen City Court has jurisdiction over criminal misdemeanors, city ordinances and traffic infractions.

The Ordinance Violations Bureau is administered by the City Court Clerk who serves as the Violations Clerk.  The Violations Clerk accepts written appearances, waivers of trial, admissions of violations, and payment of civil penalties for parking violations and other ordinance violations.   Ordinance 4411, Ordinance Violations Bureau can be viewed in its entirety at the following link: Ordinance Violations Bureau. The Schedule of Civil Penalties, as amended on January 1, 2009 per the listed ordinance, is as follows:

  • Parking Violations - First Offense - $150.00
  • Parking Violations - Second Offense within One Year - $200.00
  • Parking Violations - Third and Subseqent Offenses within One Year - $250.00
  • All other Ordinance Violations - First Offense - $175.00
  • All other Ordinance Violations - Second Offense within One Year - $225.00
  • All other Ordinance Violations - Third and Subsequent Offenses within One Year - $250.00

  • If you pay at the Court Office (111 E. Jefferson St.), there is a 3% convenience fee with a minimum charge of $2.00.
  • If you pay over the phone (574-533-9365), there is a 3.95% convenience fee with a minimum charge of $2.50.
  • If you pay via the internet (https://pay.paygov.us/EndUser/PaymentAgency.aspx?ttid=11195) ), there is a 4.95% convenience fee with a minimum charge of $3.00.
