Who do I contact regarding trash pick-up?

You do not need to register for trash collection service within Goshen city limits; Borden Waste-Away will collect automatically on a designated day. Place trash in the alley or on the curb if you do not have an alley by 7 a.m. on the day of pickup; cans must be returned from the alley/curb to the regular storage area the evening of pick up.

Where can I dispose eletronic waste?

A new law took effect January 1, 2011, regarding the disposal of electronic waste.  The new law prohibits Indiana households, schools and businesses from mixing electronic waste with loads of trash and refuse going to landfills (Indiana Code 12-20.5-10).  Goodwill has been taking electronic waste.  Please contact them for clarification of electronics they will accept.

Where do I pay my property taxes?

Payments are to be made at the Elkhart County Treasurer's Office, located at 117 N 2nd St., Goshen, IN 46528. Also, check with your bank.

Where can I get a copy of a birth or death certificate?

How do I contact the unemployment office?

The number for Workforce Development (unemployment insurance) is 295-0105.

Contact the Elkhart County Humane Society. The number is 848-4225.

How do I contact the local Social Security office?

The local Social Security office is located at 231 Waterfall Drive in Elkhart, IN. The number is 1-866-426-0532. Hours are Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm.
