FORECAST UPDATE: 5:30 P.M. THURSDAY, MARCH 1, 2018

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has updated its forecast for the Elkhart River in Goshen. According to their latest forecast, the river is expected to crest at 8.4 ft, below the initial 10 ft prediction.

City staff who have monitored the river’s gauge, water accumulation on roads and the National Weather Service’s forecasts have determined there is no concern of flooding due to the current rain. Based on the revised forecast, road closures are not expected.

We thank residents to being prepared and for helping to share information about the forecast with their neighbors. The City will continue monitoring the forecast and river levels, and will continue updating its website and this Facebook page.
