ROAD RESTRICTIONS: PIKE STREET

The Indiana Department of Transportation is doing maintenance on the Elkhart River bridge at Pike Street (US 33). Traffic is restricted to two lanes only for the duration of the project. Work is expected to be done by November 9, 2018. more

ROAD CLOSURE: OLD CR 17

Old CR 17 will be closed between Bashor Road and Shirley Drive on Wednesday, Sept. 19, Thursday, Sept. 20 and Friday, Sept. 21 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The road will be reopened after each day of construction. TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE: S. 10TH STREET

A private contractor will be demolishing a building on the 300 block of S. 10th Street Thursday, Sept. 20. Parking spaces in front of the property will be blocked, and the road may be temporarily blocked as well. more

FINAL Summer brush pickup

During scheduled brush collections, the Street Department will make only one pass through the city to pick up brush. Please have your brush by the front curb, but not in the street, by that Monday morning at 7:00 am. Brush will not be picked up in alleys and the piles should be trash free. Crews cannot access the piles if blocked by vehicles.

January 2018 Update: Solarize Initiative Brings 74 New Solar Homes to Area in 2017
Back in June, a team of volunteers from Goshen, South Bend, and Elkhart attended a training in Indianapolis to prepare to lead a local Solarize initiative in northern Indiana. Solarize is a community-powered model based on a group discount for solar panels and education. (Click on the title to read more).
