LAST LEAF PICKUP OF THE SEASON BEGINS THIS WEEK

Beginning today Monday, Dec. 18, the Goshen Street Department is using the break from snowy weather to finish picking up the leaf piles that remain along the city streets. Weather permitting, they should finish this last pass around the City by Dec. 29. If snow falls before then, the leaf collection could end sooner.

Please make sure the leaf piles are not in the roadway, because if it snows and the leaves have not been picked up yet, the leaf piles will be thrown back into the yard by the action of the snow plow. Also, leaf piles in the roadway hinder drainage of the snow melt and can clog drains.
If you haven’t been able to rake all your leaves yet, be aware that the Street Department will have a Spring leaf collection, to be determined at a later date.

You also may take your yard waste to the Goshen Environmental Center, which is located at 20100 CR 19, west of the intersection of North Indiana Avenue and CR 19. It is open all 52 weeks of the year. The center accepts leaves, loose or in bags, at no charge to Goshen residents (proof of residency is required). There is a small fee for the disposal of yard waste, like grass clippings and brush; hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Environmental Center is closed on holidays.

If you have questions, feel free to call the Street Department at 534.9711.
