The route for the Sunday, July 23 fair parade will be a little different this year due to ongoing road construction in Goshen. The parade route will be slightly modified to allow West Lincoln Avenue to remain open to through traffic.
The parade will begin as usual at Linway Plaza by proceeding east on West Lincoln Avenue. It will then turn south onto South Second Street, east onto West Washington Street, south onto South Main Street and east onto East Madison Street. Finally, it will turn east again onto Monroe Street to go to the fairgrounds.
In order to move north-south traffic away from the parade route, the City has worked with the construction contractor and INDOT (Indiana Department of Transportation) to be able to do the following:
- Open Pike Street from South Second to South Third streets temporarily—just during the parade—so that southbound traffic on North Main Street (SR 15) can be detoured to Pike Street (and the reopened Pike Street bridge), then to Indiana Avenue, Plymouth Avenue and South Main Street (SR 15).
- Have northbound traffic on South Main Street detoured to Plymouth Avenue, Indiana Avenue, Pike Street and North Main Street.
