The City Council meeting scheduled for July 5, 2016 has been cancelled due to a lack of agenda items. The next Council meeting is scheduled for July 19, 2016.

Due to a scheduling glitch with Vibrant Communities: Summit on the Future, the June 7, 2016, Common Council meeting will begin at 8:00 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. at 111 W. Jefferson Street, City Court/Common Council Room.

The June 21 Common Council meeting will start at the regular time of 7:00 p.m.

The Boil Water Advisory issued on May 24, 2016 has been cancelled. The order was for all of East Goshen from 22nd Street east to the City limits. Samples have been taken, test results are satisfactory and it is no longer necessary to boil your water.

Due to a fire in East Goshen, a boil order is being issued. The Indiana Department of Environment Management requires the Water Utility to issue a boil water order for the affected area:

• ALL of East Goshen from 22nd Street east to the City limits

Water samples will be taken and analyzed for the presence of bacteria. If two consecutive tests pass, the boil order will be lifted. Notice of the boil order cancellation a notice will be posted in the Goshen News. For further information or to report specific service concerns, please call Mindy Kyle at the Goshen Water Department at 534-5306.

City water within the affected area should not be consumed without first following prescribed boiling procedures. The water remains safe for bathing, laundry, and restroom facilities. Cleaning dishes with a dishwasher is acceptable if it has a sanitizing cycle. Hand washed dishes should be rinse with boiled or bottled water.

El agua sigue siendo seguro para el baño y lavadero. Lavar los platos con lavavajillas está bien si tiene un ciclo de desinfección. Lavar a mano los platos debe ser enjuagado con agua hervida o embotellada.

Pursuant to action previously taken by the Goshen Redevelopment Commission (“Commission”), a lease between the Commission and the Goshen Redevelopment Authority was executed and entered into on May 10, 2016 (“Lease”) and the Common Council has approved the Lease by resolution. The Lease covers the acquisition, construction, renovation and rehabilitation of the Goshen Theater in, and serving the Consolidated River Race/U.S. 33 Economic Development Area, located in Goshen, Indiana. A copy of the Lease is on file in the office of the Redevelopment Department located at 204 East Jefferson Street, Goshen, Indiana, and is available for inspection during normal business hours.
