Mayor Jeremy Stutsman announced that the City of Goshen, in cooperation with the Goshen Theater, Inc., is opening the Goshen Theater as a temporary cooling center due to the high temperatures expected over the next few days.
The hours of operation will be from 12–5 p.m., Thursday, July 21, and Friday, July 22. Hours of operation may be extended based on demand.
Mayor Stutsman encourages residents, “We are facing extreme heat conditions over the next two days. I urge Goshen residents to check on relatives, neighbors and friends during this potentially dangerous period.”
Fire Chief Sink, added “This cooling center will offer relief from the heat for people who don’t have access to a cooled environment and are at risk for heat-related health concerns.”
Location: Goshen Theater, 216 S. Main St.
Hours: Thursday 12–5 p.m. and Friday 12–5 p.m.
