LANE RESTRICTIONS ON WEST LINCOLN AVENUE

West Lincoln Avenue will be restricted to one lane Friday, Aug. 18 and Monday, Aug. 21 in the 1700 block of W. Lincoln Avenue, across from Silverwood Lane. Crews will reopen the lane at the end of the day Friday and close again Monday Morning, before reopening to traffic at the end of the day Monday. more

Participants with NIPSCO and I&M are strongly encouraged to sign a contract before Sept 30th, 2017 to receive installation before the end of the year, when changes to net metering policies start to take effect. Your home or business may be eligible for the Solarize negotiated pricing even if it is located in the surrounding counties, thanks to guidance from the Michiana Area Council of Governments. Who do I contact regarding trash pick-up?

You do not need to register for trash collection service within Goshen city limits; Republic Services will collect automatically on designated day. Simply place trash in the alley, or on the curb if you do not have an alley, by 7 a.m. on the day of pickup; cans must be returned from the alley/curb to the regular storage area the evening of pick up.

Check with a neighbor about collection days, or residents may contact the City Hall receptionist about pickup schedules for your area by calling 533.8621 during regular business hours. 90-gallon rolling bins are available for a monthly fee by calling Republic Services at 522.1331.

Where can I dispose eletronic waste?

A new law took effect January 1, 2011, regarding the disposal of electronic waste.  The new law prohibits Indiana households, schools and businesses from mixing electronic waste with loads of trash and refuse going to landfills (Indiana Code 12-20.5-10).  Goodwill has been taking electronic waste.  Please contact them for clarification of electronics they will accept.

Forms are available in the Mayors office, Water & Sewer Utilities Billing Office, or Clerk Treasurer’s Office. For information and requirements please contact the County Voter Registration office at 535-6774 (Republican) or 535-6775 (Democrat).

Where do I pay my property taxes?

Payments are to be made at the Elkhart County Treasurer's Office, located at 117 N 2nd St., Goshen, IN 46528. Also, check with your bank.

Where can I get a copy of a birth or death certificate?

How do I contact the unemployment office?

The number for Workforce Development (unemployment insurance) is 295-0105.

Contact the Elkhart County Humane Society. The number is 848-4225.

How do I contact the local Social Security office?

The local Social Security office is located at 231 Waterfall Drive in Elkhart, IN. The number is 1-866-426-0532. Hours are Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm.
