Mary Cripe announces resignation as city engineer

Mary Cripe informed Mayor Jeremy Stutsman of her resignation from her position of Civil Engineer for the City of Goshen. Mayor Stutsman said Cripe informed him of her decision to leave the administration in order to pursue another job opportunity outside of the City.

Cripe will remain in her position until Oct. 10, while the city conducts an official search for her replacement.

“We will begin our search for Mary’s replacement immediately,” Mayor Stutsman said. “In the interim, we have a very capable and experienced engineering team that will work together in managing city projects and ensuring a smooth transition.”

As the City’s civil engineer over the last 15 years, Cripe worked on a number of significant construction projects for the city. This includes various bike trails, the Plymouth Avenue and Goshen College pedestrian underpasses, and most recently Waterford Mills Parkway.

“Mary has worked hard with community leaders on a variety of projects to improve the quality of life in Goshen,” Mayor Stutsman said. “Her efforts on behalf of the city are greatly appreciated and I wish her the best in her new endeavors.”

Read this month’s Stormwater Toolbox Newsletter for some tips on how to keep these leaves from impacting the water quality of our local waterways.

Additionally, read about how the Goshen Fire Department and Sunpro Michiana helped to prevent diesel fuel from flowing into the Horn Ditch and ways you too can report on potential stormwater pollution issues. Your reports are valuable and will help to keep our local waterways clean.
