Goshen Fire Department

The Goshen Fire Department protects life and property through emergency response, fire prevention, and public safety education.

With three stations and over 70 personnel, the department provides fire suppression, advanced life support, rescue, and hazardous materials response throughout Goshen.

The department leads public outreach and education programs, including CPR training, fire extinguisher use, and emergency preparedness presentations.

Personnel conduct inspections and plan reviews to ensure buildings meet local and state safety codes.

With three pumpers, a ladder truck, reserve pumper, rescue truck and a boat, GFD responds to more than 6,000 emergency calls each year and trains regularly to maintain high performance standards.

Chief Anthony Powell leads the department that is dispatched out of the Elkhart County Dispatch Center, and supports citywide emergency planning and disaster coordination.
