Wilden Avenue

The Wilden Avenue Reconstruction project, INDOT Des. No. 1400715, will span from the Rock Run Creek bridge to approximately 100 feet east of 5th Street.

Click here to see drawings of the project.

The purpose of the project is to:

  • Improve pedestrian safety and mobility along Wilden Avenue
  • Improve traffic flow and truck access at the intersection of Wilden Avenue and SR 15
  • Provide adequate drainage
  • Improve the asphalt pavement

The project includes new pavement with curb and gutter, new sidewalks, construction of a new storm sewer, and realignment and widening of Wilden Avenue at Main Street. The project will begin on the east side of Rock Run Creek and continue to approximately 100 feet east of 5th Street. The construction of the project is expected to cost approximately $5,500,000.

Approximately 1.4 acres of permanent right-of-way and 0.53 acres of temporary right-of-way are anticipated for construction. Four residences would be relocated as a result of the project.

During construction, Wilden Avenue will be closed to through traffic and detoured around the project limits. Access will be maintained at a minimum of one street crossing between Rock Run Creek and Main Street at all times. Access to all properties will be maintained during construction.
