Goshen’s State of the City Addresses

Each March, the Mayor of Goshen delivers the annual State of the City Address during the Goshen Chamber of Commerce Founder’s Day celebration. This speech serves as a moment to reflect on our city’s progress, recognize challenges, and outline a vision for the future.

The State of the City highlights key achievements in public safety, infrastructure, economic development, housing, and community engagement. It also addresses the issues that shape daily life in Goshen, from workforce sustainability to responsible financial planning. More than just a report, this address is a roadmap—ensuring that as our city evolves, we remain committed to smart growth, inclusivity, and sustainability.

Goshen’s strength comes from its people, businesses, and organizations working together to create a thriving, resilient community. The State of the City Address is an opportunity to celebrate that collective effort while setting bold goals for the future. Stay informed and engaged as we continue to shape a city that honors its past while embracing new opportunities.

2025 State of the City

In her 2025 State of the City address, Mayor Gina Leichty reflected on Goshen’s growth and resilience, celebrating both progress and the community spirit that drives it. She emphasized collaborative wins—from planting over 300 trees to launching a Mobile Integrated Health team.

Infrastructure modernization, housing, and neighborhood investment remain top priorities. Still, challenges loom: revenue losses from property tax caps and rising costs for essential projects. “We’re not going to stand by and let our quality of life deteriorate,” Leichty said. “We’ll be innovative. We’ll act.”

While fiscal uncertainty requires careful planning, Leichty encouraged residents to advocate for fair funding and shared solutions. Her message was clear: with strong partnerships and steady leadership, Goshen can build a future that honors its past and serves every neighbor.
