Rock the Quarry Triathlon and Mile Swim – Aug. 8, 2026
The 10th annual Rock the Quarry Triathlon and Mile Swim returns Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at Fidler Pond Park in Goshen.
This event offers the only public swimming access of the year to the former quarry.
Clear, deep water creates a rare open-water swim experience in a striking setting.
Rock the Quarry Triathlon Overview
Rock the Quarry features a sprint triathlon and a standalone mile swim.
Athletes of many experience levels compete in a well-supported, USAT-sanctioned event.
Spectators enjoy clear sightlines across the pond and surrounding trail.
Sprint Triathlon
The sprint triathlon offers a competitive but approachable course for new and veteran athletes.
500-yard swim
Swimmers complete a counterclockwise triangular course in open water.
The course begins and ends at the same shoreline location.
15.8-mile bike
Cyclists ride a flat out-and-back route with right and left turns.
The course travels through an industrial area, continues into the countryside toward Millersburg, then returns.
5K run
Runners complete two laps on the flat aggregate path surrounding Fidler Pond.
The loop layout allows athletes and spectators to see much of the field throughout the race.
Mile Swim
The mile swim welcomes athletes who enjoy open-water distance swimming.
Swimmers follow a rectangular counterclockwise course in the quarry.
Chip timing ends at a timing mat placed on land at the swim exit.
