
Youth Dance

Dance Attire: Dance attire varies by instructor and by the different forms of dance.
- Hair needs to be up and out of face.
- Dancers may wear a leotard and tights with skirt/shorts or form fitting T-shirt/tank top and shorts/leggings.
- Creative Dance should have ballet slippers.
- Ballet or jazz shoes are required for ballet/jazz/lyrical.
- Sneakers (not worn outside) are required for hip hop, and jazz shoes (or sneakers/barefoot) are preferred for pom.
Pre-registration is required at the Park Office or online. Instructors will assist in class placement if needed; please contact the Park Office for details. Classes meet our dance studio located at 524 East Jackson
Street. Since class size is limited and your child will be taking a place in class upon registration,
refunds will not be issued after class capacity is met or registration closes, whichever occurs first.

Summer Dance Registration is now open too!
Summer dance will begin June 17 and run through July 29.
Each day students will learn the basic techniques and foundations of dance styles including ballet, jazz, pom, and hip hop while experiencing performances from advanced dancers and ballerinas!

- Registration opens spring of 2025! Classes begin the second week of January 2026. All classes have limited enrollment space; please register early to ensure availability. Winter sessions end with a Holiday Showcase Concert at Goshen High School.

Creative Movement
Ages 3-4, Capacity 15
Young aspiring dancers will learn rhythm, coordination, improv, mirroring, and basic dance
technique in a social and energetic environment. The season will end with a choreographed
dance performance.

Elementary Ballet/Jazz 1
Ages 7-10, Capacity 12
This combo class is perfect for beginner dancers! Dancers will spend the first half learning ballet
technique, exercises focused on posture, proper turnout/feet, and strengthening muscles. While
the second half focuses on jazz technique, rhythm and musicality, personality, and stage
performance. The season will end with two choreographed dance performances, one in each
style.

Ages 7-10, Capacity 16
This combo class is designed for dancers with 1+ years of dance experience in these
styles. Dancers will spend the first half learning ballet technique, exercises focused on posture,
proper turnout/feet, and strengthening muscles. While the second half focuses on jazz
technique, rhythm and musicality, personality, and stage performance. The season will end with
two choreographed dance performances, one in each style.

Ages 10-16, Capacity 16
This combo class is designed for beginner and experienced dancers. Dancers will spend the

personality, and stage performance. The season will end with two choreographed dance
performances, one in each style.

Teen Ballet/Jazz
Ages 13-18, Capacity 16
This combo class is designed for dancers with 3+ years of dance experience in these
styles. Dancers will spend the first half hour learning ballet technique, exercises focused on
posture, proper turnout/feet, and strengthening muscles. While the second half focuses on jazz
technique, rhythm and musicality, personality, and stage performance. The season will end with
two choreographed dance performances, one in each style.

Elementary HipHop/Pom 1
Ages 7-10, Capacity 16

hip hop technique, encouraging dancers to step outside of their comfort zone by bringing
individuality and personality to hip hop styling. The second half will focus on teaching quick and
energetic movements of pom. Different from cheerleading as there is no focus on “stunt work”
but rather on dance skills and strength. The season will end with two choreographed dance
performances, one in each style.

Ages 7-10, Capacity 16
This class is perfect for beginner and intermediate level tap dancers. Students will learn tap
dance technique focusing on counting music and mastering tap essentials. They will be
introduced to tap styles from classical, musical, rhythm, and funk. The season will end with a
choreographed dance performance.

Tween Tap
Ages 10-18, Capacity 16
This class is designed for intermediate-advanced tap dancers. Students will learn tap
dance technique focusing on counting music, mastering tap essentials, and learning more
advanced tap steps/combinations. They will be introduced to tap styles from classical, musical,
rhythm, and funk. The season will end with a choreographed dance performance.

Pointe
Ages 14-18, Capacity 16
This class is designed for advanced ballet dancers who have been evaluated and
approved to dance en pointe. The season will end with a choreographed dance performance.

Broadway Dance
Ages 9-15, Capacity 16
An energetic and dynamic dance class that focuses on styles of movement commonly seen in
musical theater productions. Blending a variety of dance techniques, including jazz, ballet, and
contemporary, with an emphasis on theatrical performance. The season will end with a
choreographed dance performance.

Dancing Kings & Queens
Ages 15-30, Capacity 12
This unique class is specialized for disabled and dancers with special needs. The class contains
the same elements as any other dance class, but with more sensitivity to each dancer’s needs.
The class is an excellent place for students to socialize and class will evolve according to the
progression of the participants.

Technique
Ages 8-18, Capacity 20
This class focuses on developing the fundamental skills and physical conditioning necessary for
dance movement. The goal is to improve strength, flexibility, control, and precision in movement,
providing students with a solid technical foundation to excel in any genre of dance. Whether the
style is ballet, jazz, hip hop, or pom, a technique class emphasizes the refinement of posture,
strength, and execution.
