GOSHEN, Ind. — Sirens blared, horns honked and little hands gripped big steering wheels during Saturday’s Touch-a-Truck community event at Shanklin Park on Aug. 23.
Children climbed into fire trucks, dump trucks and police SUVs while meeting Fire Chief Anthony Powell, Police Chief Jose Miller and department heads from across the city.
Mayor Gina Leichty deputized dozens of smiling junior mayors, while families enjoyed donuts and ORV rides.
