As the City continues to invest in infrastructure improvements, two major road construction projects will begin this August that may impact your commute. Please review the following updates and plan accordingly:
Plymouth Avenue Closure: August 11 – October 10
Beginning Monday, August 11, Plymouth Avenue will be closed to local traffic only from S.R. 15 to just short of U.S. 33. This closure is necessary to allow the contractor to perform concrete work and a full roadway reconstruction.
The work will occur in two phases:
- Phase 1: Starting at the west end near S.R. 15, construction will move eastward toward the railroad tracks.
- Phase 2: Once the west end is complete, the contractor will close the east end, from the railroad tracks to near U.S. 33.
Access will be limited to local traffic only during both phases. Please follow posted detour signs and allow extra time when traveling in the area.
Peddlers Village Road Closure: August 18 – November 21
Pending Board of Works approval, the final phase of the Reliance & Peddlers Roundabout project will shift construction westward along Peddlers Village Road, from C.R. 17 to the newly built roundabout. This section will be closed to through traffic starting August 18 through November 21.
This final phase will complete the major infrastructure upgrades in the area and improve long-term traffic flow and safety.
Roundabout Opening
The new Reliance & Peddlers Roundabout is scheduled to open to north/south and eastbound traffic on Saturday, August 16. This milestone will help ease some travel in the area as construction progresses west.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these critical roadway improvements move forward. For the latest updates, follow the City on social media or visit our project page. For questions and concerns, please call the Goshen Engineering Department 574-534-2201
