Young anglers gathered at Fidler Pond Park on Saturday, June 7, 2025 for Goshen’s annual Fantastic Fishing Derby.
Kids ages 3 to 16 competed for prizes in each age group. Each catch brought excitement, whether it was large or small.
The derby gave families a fun, relaxed way to enjoy the outdoors together. Some reeled in prize-winning fish, while others made lasting memories.

About Fidler Pond, Home of the Fantastic Fishing Derby
Fidler Pond Park is located at 1424 Lincolnway East and spans 100 scenic acres. Its 80-acre spring-fed pond supports catch-and-release bank fishing year-round. Guests can rent canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, and fishing poles on-site.
A paved walking trail circles the pond for exercise or quiet reflection. Swinging benches and picnic spots make it a favorite for families.
The park includes the Chiddister Pavilion and Lincoln Highway Gazebo.
Fidler Pond hosts events such as triathlons, nature talks, campfires and the Fantastic Fishing Derby. It earned Indiana’s Park Development Award in 2013.
About parks programs
Goshen Parks & Recreation offers seasonal programs for youth, adults, and families. Activities include sports leagues, fitness classes, camps, and youth dance.
