GOSHEN, Ind. — Goshen will honor fallen service members during its annual Memorial Day parade and ceremonies Monday, May 26.
The morning begins at 8:45 a.m. with a solemn service at Powerhouse Park along the Elkhart River.
At 9 a.m., a brief ceremony will take place on the Courthouse lawn.
Parade participants will gather at the Goshen Police Department starting at 9:30 a.m. The parade steps off at 10:15 a.m. and travels through downtown to Oakridge Cemetery.
A final ceremony begins at 11 a.m. with patriotic music, guest speakers and a tribute to veterans and service members.
Goshen VFW leads community effort to remember on Memorial Day
Goshen VFW Post 985 and civic partners organize the Memorial Day events to honor military sacrifice and community service.
Attendees of the Memorial Day Parade should keep children and pets safe behind the viewing line throughout the parade. Spectators should avoid entering the road or allowing bikes and strollers into the parade route.
City officials ask residents to stay respectful during ceremonies and when color guards pass. Bring American flags, wear patriotic colors and help set a respectful, celebratory tone.
