Video: How Goshen Parks and Recreation connects residents

GOSHEN, Ind. — From a child’s first kick on a field to indoor dance classes in winter, Goshen Parks and Recreation keeps people of all ages active and connected throughout the year.

Parks across the city welcome families to walk, explore, and enjoy fresh air. Crews maintain playgrounds, sports fields, and trails so every space stays safe, clean, and ready for community use.

Youth sports introduce children to teamwork and confidence. The Youth Sharks Soccer Program gives young athletes a place to learn skills, build friendships, and celebrate small victories. Parents cheer from the sidelines and connect with one another during practices and matches.

Adults stay active as well. Slow-pitch softball brings coworkers and friends together after long days at work. The competition is friendly. The goal is to move, laugh, and share time with teammates under the lights.

Goshen Parks and Recreation programs support every stage of life

When weather changes, recreation moves indoors. Zumba keeps residents active through dance and music. Each class offers a workout and a reason to meet neighbors with similar goals.

Creative programs round out the experience. Art, music, and seasonal events help residents explore new interests. Participants strengthen skills and enjoy time together in shared spaces.

Staff focus on accessibility and inclusion so everyone feels welcome in programs and parks. Their work builds relationships and helps residents establish healthy habits.

Across generations and activities, recreation plays an important role in Goshen. It encourages movement, supports connection, and shows what a caring community looks like in action.
