NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Four Goshen Fire Department members earned statewide honors during the Indiana Fire Chiefs Association’s Fire and EMS Leadership Conference on Sept. 19.
The Indiana Emergency Response Conference honored these Goshen leaders:
- Sgt. Charles Stevens earned Indiana Public Safety Educator of the Year. He led fire safety education and community outreach programs.
- EMS Supervisor Andrew Priem received Indiana Specialty Care Giver of the Year. He delivers specialized medical care in critical emergency situations.
- Division Chief Travis Peak earned Indiana Instructor of the Year. He trains and mentors future fire service professionals across Indiana.
- Division Chief Michael Hamby received Indiana Paramedic of the Year. He provides excellent patient care and emergency response.
The Indiana Fire Chiefs Association also honored Mayor Gina Leichty as Indiana Elected Official of the Year. The association recognized her leadership and support of public safety initiatives.
“These honors show the outstanding work of our department each and every day,” Fire Chief Anthony Powell said. “Each member of GFD strengthens colleagues and builds the reputation of our department. Goshen Fire’s impact reaches across the state.”
Mayor Leichty praised all public safety professionals. “I am proud of our colleagues in police, fire and EMS who dedicate themselves to protecting and serving our community,” she said.
The Indiana Fire Chiefs Association selection committee reviewed the nominations and the executive director approved each recipient.
