The City’s contractor will be installing a sewer lateral across Monroe Street on Friday, April 14. This work will close Monroe Street to traffic between Lincolnway East (U.S. Hwy. 33) and 14th Street for up to 4 hours. Work is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and should be completed by 2 p.m., at which time the roadway will be reopened to traffic. While the road is closed, local vehicular traffic is encouraged to use Sanders Avenue to 14th or 15th Street. This temporary detour will not be marked. Please use Lincoln Avenue and Logan Street during the closure.
Starting Monday, April 17, HRP will begin milling out the southbound lane of pavement on Logan Street. This will cause traffic patterns on Logan Street to be directed one way north. Temporary driveway impacts will occur as the milling machine passes the driveways, but the City’s contractor will be installing temporary gravel drive approaches as the milling machine passes. Toward the end of the April 17 week, the City’s contractor will begin installing pipe on Logan Street. They anticipate installing 200 to 300 feet of pipe per day; therefore, driveways that are blocked will only be blocked for about a half an hour.
