East Lincoln Avenue is closed between S. 23rd Street and Blackport Drive to allow NIPSCO crews to work on a broken service gas line.
The line was broken during construction for the new water line along Lincoln Avenue. After review of the broken gas line by the Goshen Fire Department and NIPSCO, it was determined no evacuations are needed at this time.
However, Lincoln Avenue will remain closed until the line is repaired, which is estimated to be by midnight tonight.
The detour route is Blackport Drive to Monroe Street to Logan Street and back to Lincoln Avenue.
East Goshen local traffic can still use Dykstra Street and 22nd Street
