The sixth annual ’Tis the Season concert will be even bigger and merrier this year.
The holiday concert, featuring Goshen-based musicians at Ignition Music Garage, attracts a festive crowd and raises money for local charities. Music selections include music of the season at this family-friendly event. “This will be the sixth year that we have produced ’Tis the Season at Ignition Music Garage. Last year we raised more than $3,000 for our designated charities,” said Ignition Founder Steve Martin.
“It has become an annual gift to the community from performers, visual artists, and Ignition,” said Carrie Lee Bland Kendall, show producer and chair of the Mayor’s Creative Arts Council.
This year the City of Goshen is celebrating a distinctive honor of having been selected as Community of the Year by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. “It is great to know our community has been recognized for working together to create a vibrant, welcoming City,” said Mayor Jeremy Stutsman. “I asked if we could expand the event to become a community-wide celebration this year.”
The event is planned for Saturday, December 2, and has grown to include The Electric Brew, adjacent to Ignition Music Garage. “I want to thank everyone who has participated in making our community stronger, and one that others want to emulate,” Mayor Stutsman said. “Holding a thank you celebration that also raises money for local charities is a win-win. The event will be free this year to encourage even larger donations to the charities benefiting from the ’Tis the Season show.”
The scheduled events for that evening are as follows:
6–8 p.m—Community of the Year Open House at The Electric Brew featuring complementary coffee and hors d’oeuvres. No tickets are needed to attend the open house.
7 p.m.—Silent art auction, continues throughout the evening, and is open to the community
7 p.m.—Doors open at Ignition Music Garage
7:30 p.m.—’Tis the Season begins, tickets required
Although admission is free, Mayor Stutsman, the performers, The Electric Brew and Ignition Music Garage invite everyone attending to bring non-perishable food items or a monetary donation for this year’s, ’Tis the Season beneficiaries: The Window and Elkhart County Clubhouse.
The City of Goshen will have limited reserved seating tickets available on a first come, first served basis at Mayor Stutsman’s office, limited to four per person, with preference given to families with small children (five years old and younger to sit on accompanying adult’s lap), those over sixty-five years old, and individuals with disabilities. All other tickets will be general admission standing room available from the Ignition box office, which is open for ticket downloads as of 8 a.m. Thursday, November 2.
