The City of Goshen is working on the restriping of Lincoln Avenue to facilitate better pedestrian movement. This project will provide an important connection in the City's bicycle network while providing a connection between the Indiana Multi-Use Path, Millrace Trail, Maple City Greenway, and the Pumpkinvine Natural Trail.

UPDATE (April 2022)

The City of Goshen is installing a demonstration cycle track along Lincoln Avenue between Fifth and Eighth streets. Installation will occur the first week of May (subject to change). The installation will result in a change to the road configuration, changing Lincoln Avenue between 5th and 8th streets from four lanes to two lanes with a center turn lane.

The following graph shows what the road will look like with the changes. Note the placement of the parking lane on the south side of Lincoln Avenue. The cycle track will be placed between the sidewalk and the parking lane on the south end of the road. Parking on the north side of the road will not change.

This graph shows the three blocks of the road from an aerial perspective:

See the photo below for an example of what the finished result will look like. Note again, the lane on the left side of this image shows a line of parked cars, similar to the City's project.

The Engineering Department held virtual meetings in 2021 where they first presented the project. Various opportunities will be provided this summer for residents to provide feedback.

UPDATE (July 2022)

The Engineering Department is seeking community input on the new temporary cycle track along Lincoln Avenue. Residents can take the survey by going to, (en español:
