INCIDENT IN WALNUT PARK

On the afternoon of Sunday, July 15, Parks & Recreation staff was notified of an incident in which a child was pricked by a needle at Walnut Park, 224 E. Oakridge Ave. The Goshen Police Department was called and a report was filed. At this time we do not have further information about the investigation.

In the decades that the Goshen Parks & Recreation Department has served the community, there have never been reports of anything similar. The Parks and Recreation staff, as well as the Police Department, will continue to work hard to make our parks safe for everyone. The public restrooms and the rest of the parks premises are being inspected daily, and we are talking about buying soap dispensers that are harder to tamper with.

We ask the community to help keep our parks safe by reporting any suspicious activity to the Police Department. Their non-emergency, 24-hr number is 574-533-4151. If you are reporting an emergency, dial 911.
