NOTICE OF BOIL ORDER: NORTH MAIN AND PIKE STREETS

NOTE: The Boil Order scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27, has been canceled. Samples have been taken; test results are satisfactory, it is no longer necessary to boil your water.

Thank you for your patience and for water conservation measures you followed. If you have any questions, please contact the Water & Sewer Department at 534-5306.

NOTE: The water mains affected in this post will be shut down tomorrow Wednesday, Sept. 27. The project was postponed due to a scheduling conflict. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

Today the water mains along 302 to 416 North Main Street and 109 and 111 Pike Street were shut off to make a connection to new water main; a boil order is being issued when water comes back on. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management requires the Water Utility to issue a boil water order for the affected area

Once two consecutive water samples have been taken 24 hours apart and analyzed for the presence of bacteria and are found to be absent of bacteria, the boil order will be lifted. Notice of the boil order cancellation will be distributed via a customer flier to the affected areas. For further information or to report specific service concerns, please call Mindy Kyle at the Goshen Water Department at 534-5306.

City water within the affected area should not be consumed without first following prescribed boiling procedures. The water remains safe for bathing, laundry, and restroom facilities. Cleaning dishes with a dishwasher is acceptable if it has a sanitizing cycle. Hand washed dishes should be rinsed with boiled or bottled water.
