Got brush? Here’s how to dispose of it

With an unusually warm weather this time of year, residents are already working on their yards, cleaning brush and leaves that may have been buried under the snow in the early winter.

Although the Goshen Street Department does collect brush, Street Commissioner Denny Long said now is not yet time for that. The Street Department is working to repair roads at this moment, and has not planned on collecting brush at this time.

If you have brush you must dispose of, you may take it to the Environmental Center, which is free to Goshen residents. The environmental Center, located near the intersection of Indiana Avenue and County Road 19, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Center accepts brush and leaves, loose or in bags, at no charge to City residents.

Residents are asked to not place any brush on the curb just yet, since it could snow anytime during the remainder of the season and the piled brush could become an obstacle for plows. Dates for brush collection will be announced at a later time.
