Borden Waste-Away Excited to Renew and Expand Relationship With City of Goshen

Note: The following is a message from Borden Waste Away Services.

Beginning February 1, 2018, Borden Waste-Away Service, Inc. will begin collecting residential trash for the City of Goshen, fulfilling their newly awarded contract.

Borden was originally based in Goshen before being acquired by Elkhart-based Waste-Away Group in 1974. Borden Waste-Away President, Chris Himes, relates, “We’re happy to be a part of the City of Goshen again where Borden initially had its roots. We’re looking forward to strengthening our current connection and relationship with its residents.”

The City of Goshen currently has collection service at the curb, with some customers’ trash being serviced in the alley. The way the trash is serviced will not change. Residents are asked to have trash out by 6:30 a.m. on their service day.

Borden will be offering 96-gallon trash carts free of charge for residents who call to request a cart before April 30, 2018. If more than one cart is needed, Borden may be able to accommodate those requests. For almost five years Borden has been providing curbside cart-based recycling service to Goshen residents for a monthly fee. Borden is offering a discounted rate of $5.00 per month for residents who sign up for recycling by April 30, 2018. Those interested a having a no-charge trash cart(s) delivered, or signing up for private-pay recycling service, may call Borden’s Customer Support team at (574) 293-5001 between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and noon.
