SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY – 2002 JEEP LIBERTY

The City of Goshen Board of Public Works and Safety will receive sealed offers for the sale of the City’s following vehicle:

• 2002 Jeep Liberty (VIN # 1J4GL48K52W266563)

The vehicle is being offered on an “as is, where is” basis, with no warranties or guarantees. The City specifically disclaims all express or implied warranties, including the implied warranty of
merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

The vehicle is located at the City of Goshen’s Central Garage, 320 Steury Avenue, Goshen. Interested parties may inspect the vehicle by calling (574) 534-3703 to schedule an appointment. Bids below minimum bid amount ($1,575.00) will not be considered.

Bidders shall complete all information and submit their sealed offer on forms supplied by the City. Quoting information, instructions and forms can be obtained from the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, 202 South 5th Street, Goshen, Indiana 46528 or by clicking here.

Offers shall be submitted in a sealed envelope. The envelope must be labeled with the following
information: Bidder’s name and address and the words, “Sale of 2002 Jeep Liberty”.

Offers will be received until 1:45 p.m. (local time), May 16, 2016, at the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, 202 South 5th Street, Goshen, Indiana 46528. The offers will be opened publicly and read aloud by the Board of Public Works and Safety in the City Court Room/Council Chambers at 111 East Jefferson Street, Goshen, immediately thereafter.

The City of Goshen reserves the right to reject any and all offers, to withdraw the item from sale at any time and when in the best interest of the City, to waive any informalities or irregularities in any bid received, and to award a bid, consistent with Indiana law, to the highest responsible bidder.

The successful bidder shall pay the City of Goshen in full within ten (10) days of the notice of the
award. Only certified check, money order or cash will be accepted as payment. Check shall be made payable to the “City of Goshen.” If payment is not received within the ten (10) day period, the City may offer the sale of the equipment to the next highest bidder, and the other bidder shall have no recourse against the City. The equipment will not be released to the successful bidder until payment is received in full.

The successful bidder shall be responsible for the removal of and any associated costs for the removal of the equipment. The equipment must be removed from the site within twenty (20) days after notice of award is issued to the successful bidder. If the bidder fails to remove the equipment within twenty (20) days, the successful bidder shall have no recourse against the City and shall forfeit their payment.
