Goshen Fire Department

The Goshen Fire Department was established in 1862 and consisted of all volunteers. It was called "Reliance German Fire Company #1."

In 1916, the department became motorized with the purchase of a fire truck, which cost $5,500.00.

In 1922, the department employed enough fire personnel to establish two platoons and the volunteers were phased out.

Since 1982, the department has consisted of three platoons.
